Revitalized basement in the KEC in Marktredwitz – Woolworth opens on 27.03.2025 –

The construction work in the KEC, Kösseine-Einkaufs-Center Marktredwitz, on the space formerly leased to Kaufland has been completed. As part of a comprehensive project development, the space was redistributed, provided with a shopping street identical to the floors above and connected to the first floor by a new escalator.

After a construction period of around three years, Woolworth is now the first anchor tenant to open in the new basement.

VÖLKEL Real Estate and Berlinovo Immobilien Gesellschaft mbH welcome the new tenant to around 900 m² in the KEC.

“We are delighted to have gained Woolworth, with over 750 stores in Europe and a product range that extends from decorative and household items to electrical goods, drugstore and gift items and clothing for the whole family, as an enrichment for our center,” says Christopher Kreuzer, Center Manager of VÖLKEL, who adds: “and of course we are celebrating the opening of Woolworth and the new escalator with a variety of activities over two days”.

The KEC is one of the best-known and most popular shopping centers in the region. Berlinovo and VÖLKEL are implementing a comprehensive package of measures to ensure the center’s long-term attractiveness.

The restructuring of the former Kaufland space and the installation of an escalator connecting the ground floor with the revitalized area have laid the milestones for the restructuring of new retail space. The new floor plan opens up new opportunities for the location to optimize the retail mix. “The first stage of the revitalization has been successfully completed, and now more will follow,” says Dr. Barbara Liebe, Asset Manager Leasing at VÖLKEL.
