The second stage (alert level) of the gas emergency plan is currently in force. The Gas Emergency Plan has been a legal framework for securing the gas supply in Germany since 2012. It is intended to ensure that German gas storage facilities still have sufficient reserves of natural gas in winter despite decreasing gas supplies from Russia. Only a significant reduction in energy consumption will be able to avert a massive deterioration in the heat supply, according to politicians and scientists. Many of the properties we manage are heated with gas. Both our tenants and we would like to contribute to overcoming this social challenge by taking appropriate measures in our managed properties. VÖLKEL REAL ESTATE therefore set up an interdisciplinary working group at an early stage, in which experts from the fields of ESG, property management, project development, leasing and center management intensively discuss short- to long-term measures and draw up checklists for every challenge. These studies not only shed light on purely technical possibilities for saving gas and energy, but also evaluate the management organization, legal aspects and communication recommendations with regard to our partners: tenants, customers and investors. We are already in close contact with many building owners in order to implement concrete measures now and for the near future. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
